Disaster

So much for Glacier.
I got into Missoula yesterday afternoon take care of some maintenance on the bike. I had planned on spending the night in town but Big Sky Motorsports had a mechanic that was nice enough to stick around and take care of me even though I didn't have any sort of appointment. This put me back on the road to find somewhere to camp on the way up to Glacier and that's where my trouble started.
Merging onto the highway, riding straight into the sunset, a deer jumped out in front of me. The bike nailed it broadside and I tried to ride it out but things got wobbly in a hurry and I ended up going down at highway speed. I've got a broken shoulder, presumably from hitting the pavement, but am otherwise alright. Body armor is a wonderful thing. The bike on the other hand is pretty mangled, and the deer, well, the trooper told me it was literally split in half.
Almost 5 years to the day since I broke my foot in a rock climbing accident. I think I need to start laying low prior to the 4th of July weekend.
Time to figure out how to get back east with a broken shoulder.
