Anza-Borrego Superbloom
March 26, 2017
Normally the desert is a harsh dry landscape of rocks and sand but every once in a while it rains. When that rain comes at just the right times and in just the right amounts all of the seeds that have been lying dormant, sometimes for years, all come out to play at once. This year the Anza Borrego region got that rain and had a "superbloom".
This is an area I had been though before on my motorcycle trips so I was lucky to be able to appreciate the contrast from the usual sandy wasteland that dominates this area.
